the boxers are from today.. skulls from one of the days I missed.

Closer to an hour than 90

Friday, March 5, 2010

To make up for some of the days missed here a few watercolor doodles. Ranging from 45-90mins these three are the least terrible. Definitely ripping hard on the approach of mr Nathan fowkes and not getting anywhere close. Im enjoying at least how much quicker and easier it is to get myself out to do some plein air with watercolor vs doing them in oil was such a production. Still cant really get the range of colors with watercolor that I could with oil..

First off.. Happy Birthday Ian.

Secondly, Ive just had to reformat my computer so thats why I have been missing posts for the past few days. Ill get the rest of it up soon, but for now here is a painting that propapably ended up being more like 3 hours? I was really playing around. I kinda destroyed some cool things experimenting with another layer but thats how it goes..

This is sumi ink, watercolor and acrylic.

02/23/10

Blah... I forgot this one.

02/24/10

A Mike Mignola tribute pic, love all that guys stuff.

02/24/10

This one is defiantly going to be turned into a larger painting at some point.

02/24/10

I really dig this one for some weird reason.

02/18/10

Sorry guys that it took so long. Finally uploading some stuff tonight. It took me forever to find the driver disk for my scanner. Anyway, the pencils for these were done in round about the 90 minute mark. The colors I went back and added later, hope you enjoy. My days off from work is when I mainly do these, so look forward to about four to five at a time. I am really going to start trying push myself to get at least one of these done a night.

Chopped it to 60 minutes today. African theme.. sortve.

Ok, so playing catch up, here are my ninety minutes over the past 3 days: from Crossroads to last nights 'drink and draw'.

Friday, February 19, 2010

note to self, do these in the morning, just about forgot about it today.

Apparently anger is my muse, annoying people at the gym inspired this and I had a lot of fun drawing this..

eventually I hope a direction to this comes to me.. some more page fillers here.

Found a cool reference of a man from the east when I looked up Malcolm X. Then I tried doing a Muddy Waters pic that probably comes more off as Dr. King.

Alright, there's my 90 minutes. I look forward to see where this exercise takes us -

Kicking things off with a page of expression practice. Yours truly cheesed for the camera.
